Maintaining construction design quality on socially distanced sites

Time: 12:30 - 13:30

Date: Week 4: 22-16 June

Synopsis

The University of Glasgow have an ambitious programme of works underway to expand their historic Gilmorehill campus in the heart of Glasgow’s west end. The recommendations from 2 recent reports on failings in quality: the John Cole report, and the Dame Judith Hackett report, have been embraced by the University to define their approach to quality and protocols on this major programme of works. This presentation gives an insight into the findings of these two reports, the University’s ambitions and campus expansion plans, the design and construction related quality measures employed across the programme, the outcomes of an audit of these measures headed by John Cole, and how these protocols and measures are adapting to reflect the new social distancing procedures.
