Synopsis

Adopting WELL to create healthy places for learning: Robert Hopkins, AHR Architects

Commissioned in 2017, the Spine building in Liverpool is set to become the new northern home of the Royal College of Physicians. The values of the college embrace health and wellbeing and the building therefore has been designed to achieve WELL Platinum accreditation. The talk will consider the unique approach to the building design and how the requirements of WELL have been integrated to ensure it will be one of the healthiest working and learning environments in the UK.

Four Pathways to Wellbeing across our School System: Paul Turpin, IBI Group

This is a watershed moment for the school system and for the health and wellbeing of our teachers/enablers and children. The Five Ways to Wellbeing provide an important framework in assessing the ability of our schools to deliver health and wellbeing. The Four Pathways to Wellbeing is a manifesto for change, that will provide a solid restructuring of our education estate and make a wholesale difference to the design and delivery of our schools, the ability to attract teachers to the profession and ultimately improve the education for our children.
