James Hampton

James is the founder of new makers bureau, a London-based architecture practice specialising in making low carbon buildings for public good.  The practice’s work spans education, cultural and civic buildings, with current commissions including an arts centre and a primary school.

Before founding new makers bureau James co-founded Periscope, a combined Landscape and Architecture practice with his work on the future of the high street recently featured on the BBC’s panorama program.  Prior to this he worked for a number of architecture practices including for Studio Egret West and Will Alsop.

James has lectured both in the UK and beyond and has taught at degree and masters level.  He currently teaches in the masters school at the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London.

James studied at the Bartlett where he was awarded a distinction for his final year timber school project.
